News and Information
For Series 10
 2012
For Week 11
14 September  2012

RAW Track Newsletter 2012 sponsored by:

Week 12  Final Night...... Bring it!

This week’s Races
•   Round 1   warm up Scratch
•   Round 2   no race (save time)
•   Round 3  Kierin
•   Round 4  Winners Race

•   Round 5  Combines +CNSW time blaster  (8:22 record Scott Law 2008 )
•   Round 6 Race video replays, Pizza and Beer at the Kiosk + Presentation and Music Video

In Most divisions the top 7 will face off in the Kierin. The top 7 heat will be the last heat of each division.

Explain these races
Kierin- The keirin is a motorpaced event that is very popular in Japan where it originated. In that country, huge amounts of money are bet on races and professional keirin riders command impressive salaries. It is similar to the match sprint, but features 6-8 riders on the track. A derny motorbike paces the riders from 25 km/h up to 45 km/h for the first few laps. During this time, riders jostle each other for the best position and this is often the roughest part of the event. With two and a half laps to go, the derny bike pulls off and the sprint is on. Team tactics are important here, as the leadout is often quite long. If one team can get two of their riders in the final, then they are at a distinct advantage. reference www.cyclingnews.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CxkGOgoAOM&feature=channel

Winners Race- The race is over 16 laps. There is a sprint with 13laps to-go, the winner of this sprint qualifies for the final sprint, however he/she must continue to race, keeping a close eye on the winners of the sprints with 10, 7 and 4 Laps to go. Each of these riders also qualify for the final sprint. With 4 laps to go all non-qualifying riders must withdraw from the race. leaving a 4 up sprint to decide the final placing. You can work out all the tactics on this one.

CNSW  Time Blaster

•   On the final night of each season the money ($200) only goes off if the record is broken
•   The Record is held by Scott Law set last year @ 8min 22 sec

Large numbers
•   Usually we can expect a few extra cyclists to help celebrate the final night.
•   To ensure everyone gets their full program of racing in…….;
•   Warm up will end at 6:57pm
•   Riders will be encourage to be prompt to their starting positions
•   1 lap warm down rule will apply.

No Novice Grade this week
•   To save time there will be no novice this week

On the final night of the series the crew from Bakalar Beer are coming along to check out the Sydney Track Scene. They will be bringing a load of beer to ensure that those of us at the RAW Track presentation don't go thirsty.

I need to lay down some ground rules
I would ask for your co-operation on these matters

•   No underage drinking.
•   Responsible Service of Alcohol rules will be applied.
•   rubbish must be disposed of sensibly
•   Patrons consider purchasing product at their next visit to the bottle shop

Who is hot and who is not (for TWE Point Series)

For the final week

    vs.

Div 1:
Hot: Josh and Ben
Not: Browney

Odds
Josh Cornish  58%
Ben Harvey 45%
David Browne 2%

What happens if a points are equal at the end of the night!
This is almost impossible as the riders are separated by 5 point! With the races being worth 10, 6 , 4 and 2 points the 1 point becomes like a ½ point in your footy betting. However there is a possibility. Should there be a dead heat in a race In the extremely unlikely circumstance that this should happen then I refer to the RAW Track constitution:
Equal placing. Count back to highest points on final night. (Clause: Div 1 will have ride off in a 500m TT)

Div 2:
Hot: Bradley Heap
Not: Scott Mills .. He lost 10 points of his impressive lead last week
Odds
Scott Mills 65%
Brad Heap 35%

Div 3:
Hot: Nathan Garard and Andrew Homan
Not: Ben Fox
Nathan Garard  50%
Tom Bolton  20%
Andrew Homan 20%
Trevor Smith 10%

Div 4:
Hot: Stelio Papas
Not: Nigel Apps … slips further behind

Odds
Stelio Papas 95%
Tai Huynh  5%

Div 5

Although this division doesn’t carry any prize money, only medals/trophies it is still a hotly contested division.
Odds
Logan Olive 40%
Aubry Hill 60%
