Pizza for all at presentation Refershments ;D provided at presentation Top 7 from each division roll out in the Kierin "Bring It" (http://www.rawtrack.com.au/TWE.jpg) This week’s Races • Round 1 warm up Scratch • Round 2 no race (save time) • Round 3 Kierin • Round 4 Point a Lap • Round 5 Handicap Combine (30 laps) + Hillbrick Club Challenge Italian Pursuit +CNSW time blaster (8:22 record Scott Law 2008 ) • Round 6 Race video replays, Pizza and Beer at the Kiosk + Presentation and Music Video In Most divisions the top 7 will face off in the Kierin. The top 7 heat will be the last heat of each division. Explain these races Kierin- The keirin is a motorpaced event that is very popular in Japan where it originated. In that country, huge amounts of money are bet on races and professional keirin riders command impressive salaries. It is similar to the match sprint, but features 6-8 riders on the track. A derny motorbike paces the riders from 25 km/h up to 45 km/h for the first few laps. During this time, riders jostle each other for the best position and this is often the roughest part of the event. With two and a half laps to go, the derny bike pulls off and the sprint is on. Team tactics are important here, as the leadout is often quite long. If one team can get two of their riders in the final, then they are at a distinct advantage. reference www.cyclingnews.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CxkGOgoAOM&feature=channel Point'a'Lap- The race is run similar to a point score-however each lap is a sprint for first place only and worth one point. The overall winner is the rider with the most points. In most grades riders will have 5 laps of non-point scoring followed by 10 laps of point'a'lap . CNSW Time Blaster (http://www.nsw.cycling.org.au/site/cycling/NSW/nsw2008/image/mhead.jpg) • On the final night of each season the money ($100) only goes off if the record is broken • The Record is held by Scott Law set last year @ 8min 22 sec Large numbers • Usually we can expect a few extra cyclists to help celebrate the final night. • To ensure everyone gets their full program of racing in…….; • Warm up will end at 6:57pm • Riders will be encourage to be prompt to their starting positions • 1 lap warm down rule will apply. Title: Re: Week 14 Final night 2013 Post by: Artson on September 10, 2013, 09:51:22 AM Grade point scores are frozen (for series contenders) • By this I mean that the Division you are in now on the point score will be the one you will earn points for the rest of the season, even if you change divisions. • So if you move from Div 3 to Div 2 this week your name will remain in the Div 3 point score.
