After a designated number of laps a whistle is blown for the first sprint. The winner of the first sprint is deemed the winner of the race and allowed to carefully withdraw from the race. Each proceeding lap sprint will produce the consecutive places from 2nd to 4th. Tip if you go for a sprint make sure you win it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28iqHThZspM&feature=channel Paced Scratch race - The pace in this race is set by a Div 1 rider. The bunch follows the leader for ??laps until, with 5 laps remaining the div 1 rider takes off leaving the bunch to sought out the winner in scratch race style finish. Madison- A high speed, two person continuous race relay. Think of tag team wrestling meets track cycling - while one partner is racing the other is resting at the top of the track. This race is named after Madison Square Garden in New York where the event was first held. Two man teams contest the event, which is typically an endurance event. Only one rider from each team is allowed in the race at a given time, meaning that teams must take it in turn each lap (or more) to have a rider in the race. Changeovers are quite dangerous, but impressive to watch when done well - one rider circles around waiting for his teammate, who joins hands and imparts his momentum to the slower rider. At RAW Track we usually ride this on a scratch race format reference www.cyclingnews.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XZ4_QbZJks&feature=channel Feature Race (http://sydneybikepolo.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/SKINGROWSBACK.png) The Skingrowsback 1.5km Wheel Race • This week’s feature race will be The Skingrowsback 1.5km wheel-race in Round 2 • Riders finishing in the top 3 of the warm up scratch race from Div 1-4 will qualify • In the event of a division being split, the top two of each heat will qualify Handicaps: • Div 1 = 0m • Div 2 = 50m-60m • Div 3 = 110m-120m • Div 4 = 190-200m (https://skingrowsback.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/skingrowsback-site-logo-1.png) (https://skingrowsback.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/chainring-bag-neon-green-aerial.jpg) http://www.skingrowsback.bigcartel.com/ Points are double! • This week is the first week were result points are double • For every week you attend you receive 10 points (as per normal) • In rounds 3 and 4, top four place getters receive 10, 6, 4 and 2 points respectively Point Score info Last week’s top scorers • Div 1 Tirian McManus 20 points • Div 2 Gav White 18 points • Div 3 Bat Yildirim 18 points • Div 4 Renee Covington 18 points • Div 5 Jake Holmes 20 points (http://www.rawtrack.com.au/TWE.jpg) series • Div Tirian McManus 159points • Div 2 Blake Ryan 154 points • Div 3 Rodrigo Notaro + Bat Yildirim 151 points new leader • Div 4 Renee Covington 141 points new leader • Div 5 Angela Jones 134 points Teams/Clubs Challenge top 3 1 Dulwich Hill 2375 2 Randwick Botany 1883 3 St George 1751 4 Hunter Districts 1081 5 Lidcombe 921 6 Illawarra 811 7 Bathurst 626 8 Penrith 617 9 ATTA-NSW 596 10 Southern Cross 561 11 Central Coast 478 12 Marconi 387 13 Manly 382 14 Bicisport 332 15 Northern Sydney 315 16 SUVelo 266 17 Goulburn 217 18 Canberra 193 19 Sutherland 187 20 Vikings 181 21 Bankstown 158 22 Eastern Suburbs 125 23 Waratah Masters 115 24 Gold Coast CATS 109 25 Peloton Sports 96 26 Tamworth 84 27 Southern Highlands 81 28 Port Adelaide 79 29 Hunter Valley 67 30 Dubbo 61 31 ADFC 60 32 North Western Syd 56 33 Nowra 56 34 Parramatta 55 35 Wagga Wagga 53 36 Ipswich 48 37 Melbourne 36 38 ANU 34 39 Eurobodalla 30 40 Muswellbrook 30 41 Orange 30 42 Sydney 30 Battle a-brewing in Division 2 • Blake Ryan V Gav White V Matt LeDilly V Geoff Baxter V David Browne • Blake Ryan leads, but you would have to say Gav White is the fastest sprinter and Geoff Baxter is the best on endurance. • Matt LeDilly has been the dominant leader throughout the series and capable of placing in both sprint and Enduro whilst Brownie is there to pick up the scraps should anyone faultier • This week’s Round 3 Win’N’Out will be very interesting to watch Battle a-brewing in Division 3 • Rodrigo Notaro V Bat Yildirim • Are on equal points! • What will happen in the Win’N’Out?
