This week’s Races • Round 1 warm up Scratch • Round 2 no race this week • 1 ½ lap screamers (5 riders 1.5 laps) • Round 4 Point’a’Lap • Round 5 Combines Explain these races 1.5 lap Screamers-– Riders draw lots to start in position 1-5 up the track. The riders start in a Time trial hold (No-Push) for whistle start on the pursuiters line in back straight. First one to complete 1 1/2 wins. Easy. Point'a'Lap- The race is run similar to a point score-however each lap is a sprint for first place only and worth one point. The overall winner is the rider with the most points. Point Score info Last week’s top scorers • Div 1 Josh Cornish and Mark Jewell 26 points • Div 2 Baxter, Mclean and Jones 20 points • Div 3 Gary Mandy and Tom Bolton 26 points • Div 4 Jack Morgan 30 points • Div 5 Logan Oliver and Aubry Hill 26 points TWE Wheels Division leaders (http://www.rawtrack.com.au/TWE.jpg) • Div 1 Josh Cornish 143 points • Div 2 Scott Mills 154 points • Div 3 Tom Bolton 151 points • Div 4 Stelio Pappas 157 points • Div 5 Logan Oliver 146 points Teams/Clubs Challenge (http://www.rawtrack.com.au/sponsors/Hillbrick.jpg) 1 Dulwich Hill 2944 2 Lidcombe 1816 3 Penrith 1572 4 St George 1488 5 Central Coast 1127 6 Hunter Districts 1056 7 Illawarra 933 8 Sutherland 916 9 ATTA nsw 784 10 Canberra 713 Grade point scores are frozen (for series contenders) • By this I mean that the Division you are in now on the point score will be the one you will earn points for the rest of the season, even if you change divisions. • So if you move from Div 3 to Div 2 this week your name will remain in the Div 3 point score. • Going down a grade is different and will be dealt with on a case by case basis. No Novice racing in final week Sept 14 • To ensure we don’t all have a late night I intend to streamline the program on the final night • First thing will be no Novice category • If you couldn’t try track before week 11 of RAW you have missed out! Canteen @ the DGV • Our good friends from Bankstown Sports Cycling club will again be running a canteen this Friday • They provide a range of foods and drinks and well worth supporting. • To allow for a prompt pack up please order you food before the last race of the night. Wednesday training @ the DGV • Our good friends from Bankstown Sports Cycling club will again be running track training this Wednesday. • This is a great opportunity to advance your track skills or just learn some. • Training starts at 6pm for the beginners and after 7pm there is a 160 lapper above the blue. For week 11 (http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:u29gLYNrvMzl5M:http://smallmediumlarge.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/mullet11.jpg) vs. (http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:AiTBOtfLJJsxTM:http://laist.com/attachments/la_zach/paris-hilton_thatshot.jpg) Div 1: Hot: Josh Cornish, Ben Harvey and Tirian McManus Not: David Browne and Michael Popplewell ...... David has slipped from first to third whilst Michael has a few young riders biting at his heels What a difference a week makes! Josh Cornish was aided by McManus in his two point scoring races to secure the lead. Ben Harvey seems like the logical threat to the lead. Minor places: Jack Edwards has National championships on this weekend and will miss this week almost ruling him out of top 5 contention. McManus must realise that he has a significant chance of a high placing. Top 5 contenders Josh Cornish 143 Ben Harvey 135 David Browne ** 133 Michael Popplewell 128 Jack Edwards 125 Darren Cash 115 Tirian McManus 115 Div 2: Hot: no one really! Not: Bradley Heap lost out significantly on both his bid for the win and maintaining a top two position. It looks like Scott Mills has done enough to secure the series win, the battle for 2nd to 5th is very much undecided. Top 5 contenders Scott Mills ** 154 Bradley Heap ** 139 Jack Schwarze 134 Michael Buckingham 131 Darryl Thorncraft 129 Geoff Baxter 122 Div 3: Hot: Tom Bolton Not: Julian Yuen and Nathan Garard Julian’s non appearance over the last two weeks have seen him plumet out of win contention. Nathan lost the lead he had enjoyed over the last 6 weeks with a blinder of a night by Bolton. . Top 5 contenders Tom Bolton 151 Trevor Smith 146 Ben Fox 144 Nathan Garard 143 Vic Svacek 142 Andrew Homann 138 Pete Murray 131 Div 4: Hot: Spackman and Stelio Not: Nigel Apps: Nigel has two weeks of less than brilliant performances, the former leader needs to lift his finishing game or risk being bumped completely. Top 5 contenders Stelio Pappas 157 Tai Huynh 150 Scott Spackman 146 Nigel Apps** 145 Tim O'mahony 132 Brad Mills 127 Peter Rox ** 126 Div 5 Hot: Olly : too hot to handle Aubry V’s Olly Top 5 contenders Logan Olive 146 Aubry Hill 133 Eleri Morgan -Thomas 130 Mark Fakhouri 116 Paul Murray 111 Selina Ho 110 Title: Re: Week 11 Sept 07 (2012) Post by: Artson on September 06, 2012, 10:56:46 PM Extra note:
