This week’s Races • Round 1 warm up Scratch • Round 2 no race • Round 3 Win’N’Out • Round 4 Miss’N’Out • Round 5 Combines Explain these races Win’N’ Out This is the opposite of a Miss’N’Out race. After a designated number of laps a whistle is blown for the first sprint. The winner of the first sprint is deemed the winner of the race and allowed to carefully withdraw from the race. Each proceeding lap sprint will produce the consecutive places from 2nd to 4th. Tip if you go for a sprint make sure you win it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28iqHThZspM&feature=channel Miss 'N' Out - the bike equivalent of musical chairs, Sometimes called the elimination race or "Devil's Race," every lap the last rider across the finish line is pulled out of the race until only two riders remain. The remaining two riders are given the bell and manoeuvre themselves before the final all out sprint to the finish line. Keep your eyes peeled to the back of the field that's where all the excitement lies in this event. For week 12 (http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:AiTBOtfLJJsxTM:http://laist.com/attachments/la_zach/paris-hilton_thatshot.jpg) V's (http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:u29gLYNrvMzl5M:http://smallmediumlarge.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/mullet11.jpg) Div 1: Hot: Ben Harvey… Will win 2013 RAW Track Not: Brad Heap …….missed the points last week Ben Harvey is flying! I believe he has essentially wrapped up the series after a second perfect week in a row. This is a good thing for Ben as he can now relax his training in preparation for the his intensive program for the National championships in 2014. Although Ben has control of the win 2nd through to 6th is completely out of control. Every rider is separated by a handful of points. Top 5 contenders Ben Harvey 199 Bradley Heap ** 156 Gavin White 155 Scott Mills ** 153 Daniel Van der laan 152 Joshua Cornish 151 Jack Schwarze** 146 Div 2: Hot: Gary Mandy Not: Proctor Morris … He rode well last week but missed the points Geoff Baxter has a 10 point buffer on Gary Mandy is it enough? Top 5 contenders Geoff Baxter** 180 Gary Mandy 170 Eric MacDonald 168 Elliot Stacey** 156 Jack Morgan 153 Procter Morris 150 Div 3: Hot: Sean Brunt Not: Damon Brunt Sean has hit the lead for the first time of the series; he has a 5 point lead and will go into the last two weeks as the clear favourite. Oldly whilst the old-man Brunt is peaking the youngster Brunt is wallowing. These guys may be nicknamed “Bookend Brunts” it is not uncommon to see one at the front and the other at the rear. Top 5 contenders Sean Brunt 178 Kurt Allen 173 James Orton 167 Ian Docherty 168 note I have spotted an error Ian has missed out on a 10 point away week. Correct score is 168 Lizanne Wilmot 153 Damon Brunt 153 Stelio Pappas ** 153 Div 4: Hot: almost everyone Not: no one The two man div 4 show continues with Nigel Apps taking a two point advantage over Phil Dobe last week to increase his lead to 8 points. Whilst this is increasing the odds that Nigel will win the series, I cannot help but notice how tense and stressed he appears, in contrast Phil seems a lot more relaxed with a nothing to lose attitude. Top 5 contenders Nigel Apps** 197 Phillip Dobe ** 189 Steffi Taylor 161 Nick Hardcastle 156 Mark Bezzina 149 Peter Rox ** 147 Mark Fakhouri 146 Chris Harris 145 Brad Mills 144 Alex Lord 144 Div 5 Hot: Broughton Caley : too hot to handle Not: Ben Hill Ben lost a little bit of ground in his second place assault, will he hold off the charge of Ian and John Top 5 contenders Broughton Caley ** 178 Ben Hill 150 Ian Bullimore 147 Thomas Murray 143 John Crnogorac 138 The Hillbrick Club Challenge : Hot: DHBC and LACC Not: All other clubs It is guaranteed that DHBC and LACC will fight it out in the second last race of the series in a 10 person Italian Pursuit. Teams and reserve riders will be posted on the RAW track website by midnight 8th September. |
