Title: is Nascar's on play stn. accepted as training ?
Post by: troublemaker on June 02, 2009, 09:01:25 AM
Sometimes i do a bit of training,,,but usually i get home, walk through the door & systematicly turn on the t.v ,,,suround sound & the play stn. with the nascar's ready to roll...point is prev. years i would use WoO Sprintcars to hone my skills, & that seemed to ,kind of work...so with this untrialed method it would devistate me to think that nascars ain't going to help me with RAW 09". .... has/does any one use or know of this method & result's ?
P.S
hey Paul I hope your familiar with Yellow flag's & restarts..

On the flip side, I have always found driving home from a night of track racing difficult. Every time I come alongside another vehicle I feel like giving it a nudge.

I have a similar feeling when driving after playing a car-racing game on the X-Box, so maybe you are onto something, but probable not!

I know the feeling!  I remember discussing the drive home with a few div 1 riders and someone quoted speeds of 140kph on their way to Bondi.....now who was that???

Hey Troublemaker,

Why were you rear ending the prro lady in traffic rather than concentrating on driving your tonka toy?

By the way, does the gold bike come with spoka dokeys?

well we are half way through the series and I guess I could almost answer my own question. pre season I was using the nascar game as mental preperation, and it's helped with my not so aggressive acceleration, but the ability to hook up and draft the veichle/rider in front. Though where this method has failed me is that no one seems to be pitting near the final laps so I can stay out and win the race. I had realised this by week 3 so unknown to my fellow competiters I have reverted back to the tried and proven, WoO Sprintcars, And It really does mimick the riding styles and traffic behaviors of div. 3, thus better mentally preparing myself for a great night of mayhem. Now since I feel I have the drafting thing down pat, I guess I'm gonna have to learn how to lift the front wheel up out of turn 4 all the way to the finnish . But that will require some training, till then I'll close my eyes whilst coming out of turn 4 and pretend !!! :o
