This week’s Races
•   Round 1   Warm up Scratch
•   Round 2   The Cycleworld 1.5km Wheel-Race
•   Round 3  Kierins and Kierin Kup
•   Round 4  Miss’N’Out Points Race

•   Round 5 Combines  + Time Blaster
Note: Point scoring rounds are in Blue.

Explain these races

Kierin- The keirin is a motorpaced event that is very popular in Japan where it originated. In that country, huge amounts of money are bet on races and professional keirin riders command impressive salaries. It is similar to the match sprint, but features 6-8 riders on the track. A derny motorbike paces the riders from 25 km/h up to 45 km/h for the first few laps. During this time, riders jostle each other for the best position and this is often the roughest part of the event. With two and a half laps to go, the derny bike pulls off and the sprint is on. Team tactics are important here, as the leadout is often quite long. If one team can get two of their riders in the final, then they are at a distinct advantage. reference www.cyclingnews.com

Miss'N'Out Pointscore- - This is a standard Miss'N'out however the derny (motorbike) follows the bunch at 100m. As the riders are eliminated they drop back to the derny and continue till all riders are behind the Derny. The Derny sets a controlled pace for 2 laps than pulls off to leave a Kierin style finish.
Scoring in the Miss'N'Out phase, each rider receives the corresponding points to the position they are eliminated i.e. first out =1point 5th out= 5 points etc. The winner of the Miss'N'out receives his/her corresponding points plus a bonus of 1 point.
The Kierin phase is scored as 8, 5, 3 and 2 (if bunch is greater than 9 riders) and 5, 3 ,2 and 1. (for bunches of 8 or less)
The winner of the race is the rider with the most points.

Grade point scores are frozen (for series contenders)
• By this I mean that the Division you are in now on the point score will be the one you will earn points for the rest of the season, even if you change divisions.
• So if you move from Div 3 to Div 2 this week your name will remain in the Div 3 point score.

Keirin Kup
All riders will be riding Keirins this week, however only Div 1 will ride the below format.

Heats
•   Div 1 will have their heats early in the round (after Div 5)
•   All riders will be semi-randomly split into one of three heats.
•   Please listen to instruction when drawing for position.
•   Points for the TWE Series will be awarded from your heat race (only).
•   1st and 2nd in the heat will advance to the night final

Night Final
•   Top 2 from the three heats will race in the 6 up night final.
•   Riders will draw for position
•   Winner will earn an automatic entry to the Series Keirin Kup Final
•   All other riders will receive points towards the Keirin Kup Final

Keirin Kup Final
•   Will be on the final night of RAW Track
•   The final will have the three winners of the night finals + the next three on overall points in the Keirin Kup series
•   Prizes will be based on the Final.

A message from LACC to DHBC.
BFV from LACC loves to take shots at DHBC at any opportunity. Last year he posted a gif each week and looks like doing the same this year.

Again in 2014- No series prize for winners of Div 5
•   Div 5 was introduced to be a stepping stone to riding in a higher grade in the past, some riders have not progressed to a higher grade because they were highly ranked for the point series. Even though they had progressed in speed and ability.
•   To return Div 5 to its intended purpose and encourage riders to step up, there will be no series prize for Div 5 in 2014 Riders will continue to score points in Div 5 and can take them up to Div 4 (as per RAW Track Constitution)
•   As in previous years Trophies are still awarded to the top place getters, along with the season DVD, however they receive no money or tickets for the prize pool.

Who is hot and who is not (for TWE Point Series)

For week 12

    V's

Div 1:
Hot: Tirian McManus and Josh Cornish
Not: Everyone else in Div 1

Tirian has a 18 point buffer over Joshua  going into week 12. However, Tirian has NRS duties this week and will not attend. Lets Say Josh has a perfect night scoring 30 points this week, he will go into the final night with a 12 point lead ………Game on!

Top 5 contenders
Tirian McManus    195
Joshua Cornish   177
Bradley Heap   150
Robert Cater   131
Scott Mills    126
Alex Chubb   126
Ben Fox    121
Shaun MacWilliam   120
Jake Waller   119

Div 2:
Hot: Gary Mandy  + Geoff Baxter
Not: Nosh Mistry He rode well last week but missed the points
Gary has wrapped this up in my opinion; he is simply too fast in the sprint events and manages to place in the endurance round. Geoff is back on the move up after missing a week

Top 5 contenders
Gary Mandy   196
Nosh Mistry   179
Geoff Baxter   175
Brendan Barrett   170
Ben Lehner   159

Div 3:
Hot: Troy Fisher is smashing it in Div 3
Not: Noel Gorrel is just smashing.
Troy has risen up the grades this season and now seems certain to win overall. He may secure enough points this week to confirm the victory and ride the last week in div 2. Lizzane is making a late season challenge and is locked in a battle with young Broughton Caley.
Top 5 contenders
Troy Fisher    171
Lizanne Wilmot    159
Broughton Caley   156
Noel Gorrell    151
Steffi Taylor    145
Shane O'Brien   143
Bradley Peyser   143

Div 4:
Hot: Ian Grant dominant in this division
Not: Charles Dale was absent last week
Ian Grant looks set to secure the victory. Luke Britten has been battling for the lead all season but looks like he may need to settle for second.   3rd is anyone’s guess.

Top 5 contenders
Ian Grant   179
Luke Britten   165
Brad Mills   149
John Caley   146
Charles Dale   144
Ray Gorrell   141
John Trovas   138

Div 5

Hot: Jonathan  Huggett, moves to #1
Not: Maximillian Santos  moves to #2

This is a real a battle between Jonathon and Maximillian, big bad Brent Sims has a chance to take on the rest. Should be an interesting final 2 weeks

 Top 5 contenders

Jonathan Huggett   158
Maximillian Santos    157
Brent Sims   146
Rohan Hayden-Smith   142
Katarina Chung-Orr   136
Ruby Reidy-Miller   130
Rowan Davis   122

The Hillbrick Club Challenge :
Hot: DHBC and LACC
Not: All other clubs
It is guaranteed that DHBC and LACC will fight it out in the second last race of the series in a 10 person Italian Pursuit.
Teams and reserve riders will be posted on the RAW track website by midnight 10th September.
